Using your fargo based website as a Storefront

The ides is to grab the attention of a window shopper at a tradition storefront and bring them in. Then to convert that interested customer into a sale. The same is true with a website storefront. This is done with an e-commerce system and the following:

By providing plenty of content and product description like the size, dimension, color along with comparisons of other similar products. Then allow the customer to choose a product(s), total a clear pricing on shipping and the cost of the actual product, complete the sale and then get an order number, and/or invoice confirmation via email. Plus being able to have your customer choose the correct shipping method.

Tell your customer if the item is in stock or delivered against order. Ideally, you should have an email contact or the ability for live help if the customer has a question. The most important thing to remember is to respond immediately! If you want to provide your own live chat and/or help desk services from your website, specialized software is available to assist.

Be sure all contact information or customer service numbers are large and clearly marked. This adds to a positive customer experience.

Provide an ‘about us’ section or a section about your company, services, FAQ’s, policies and so on. Including a privacy statements and customer satisfaction policies, are a helpful way to make the customer will feel better about shopping in your store.

Having testimonials and past customer quotes throughout the site let your prospective customer know that others have been happy with your services and will be more likely to purchase from you.

Provide an FAQ with information about your return-back policies, guarantees, shipping prices and insurance charges if any.

Offer a print catalog of your merchandise if the customer prefers to order one from your storefront and shop in the privacy of their homes.

Quickly remove products that are marked ‘sold’ or pages that say ‘under construction’ or ‘coming soon’.

Adding new content frequently, will help your returning customers not tire looking at the same information and products they saw three months ago.

Remove all references to dates tags unless it is automatically updated daily.

The advantages to owning and operating an online store are limitless. No more do you have worry about the bounds of a traditional storefront. Go ahead and dive in.
